I'm the Founder, President, and CEO of Anchored in Grace Foundation.  My journey into nursing began when I watched my grandmother, a devoted nursing assistant, care for others with quiet strength. Her impact lit a spark in me that’s never gone out. I would later witness her grieve the loss of her husband to cancer; proof that the disease does not discriminate against even the most beautiful of souls.

Her spark led me to nursing school—an uphill climb I faced while working full time, attending night classes, and completing clinicals on weekends. I went on to work in orthopedic and surgical nursing before my heart found its home in oncology.  Even though I went on to earn my BSN and later a Masters in Health Administration, my greatest education came from my patients’ stories.  I learned so much from the pain in their silences and the courage in their smiles. The resilience and strength of patients dealing with the worst diagnoses inspire me.

I currently work in precision oncology company which analyzes tissue from biopsies to determine which therapies are likely to be effective—and which may not offer benefit. It’s deeply meaningful work that underscores how personal and unique every cancer journey is. This experience continues to shape how I advocate through Anchored in Grace, reminding me daily of the importance of individualized care and the humanity behind every diagnosis.

My hope is that this foundation doesn’t just offer financial assistance—it offers understanding.  It asks every patient not just what they need, but who they are. And, it listens.  I strive to lead with the belief that compassion can be a balm... and create a beautiful story.
